DOG UPDATE

Well, the whole dog this is going pretty good. It has been a lot of work on my part. He has had 5 baths in 2 days because I think he stinks. I have pretty much concluded that dogs smell like dogs and I can't wash it off. So, really he is great. I just watch his every move so that we don't have any accidents. He does potty in his crate at night and when we leave him during the day but I can handle that.

We put him in the crate at night and he doesn't make a peep. Seriously, Brooks got up at 7:00 this morning and got his milk out of the refrigerator and he didn't make a sound. Brooks came to ask me if he could let him out because he was awake. The main thing Chris and I were worried about was him whining all night.

The boys absolutely love him and play with him a lot. He has picked his family favorite, and that would be me. He follows me around everywhere I go and has to be sitting right next to me in my chair. He knows who takes care of him.

So the moral to this story is "I think he is a keeper!"

Jax's Day!!

Jax had a GREAT Birthday!!! I can't believe he is 7 years old but we aren't going to talk about that! We ended up giving both the boys the motorcycles they wanted today. I know it is early for Brooks' birthday but it worked out great because one is the older model and we bought it because it was the display and it was half price. It is also a plus that it looks a little different and has a different number. No confusion!

We went to Chili's for lunch with some friends!! Jax did NOT want them to sing to him but he for sure wanted the free dessert! Later we made camo cupcakes!! Yes, these are camo cupcakes! We also went to the local shelter to just SEE what animals they had. Yeah, whatever, I was prepared to bring one home. Jax fell in love and begged for this little silky terrier. We gave in and let them decide on one together. One dog for them both to share. Brooks just goes with the flow. The one Jax wanted was great with him. So everyone meet "Camo!" He is a 7 month old and so far so good. He loves the kids and is so sweet!!
Look who else just loves little Camo:

Let's make silly putty!!!

We did make time in our day to make silly putty! We ran some errands with our neighbors, Heather, Brooke and Hunter. Then had some lunch at Chili's. On the way home the kids begged to play together so we headed to our house. Of course, they all wanted to make silly putty. So here we are with the 3 ingredients.

The kids mixed their own custom colors with food coloring:

Mixing together the two ingredients, then waiting the FOREVER 5 minutes! Kids are sooooo impatient.
Then knead the slime together until it turns into silly putty and as you see we stored it in the little egg like things we get at HEB. (A little prize thing for the kids)
And if your Brooks, you throw yours on the ceiling!! Nice!!

NO crafts tomorrow. We are taking the kids to Schlitterbahn water park in Galveston!! I am not sure who will have the most fun, hmmm yeah I am, me!!!

Feeling Crafty

So I bought this book about 3 years ago and just started using it a couple of weeks ago. The kids and I have had a lot of fun with it. They usually find ways to play on their own but sometimes when I am not busy I like to play with them. There are tons of crafty projects to try.

Today we started a pinata.
They had so much fun making the pinata. Brooks did one strip though then had to go wash his hands. He was done, but wanted to take pictures. After it dries we will pop the balloon and fill it with candy. They are already talking about what object they are going to use to smack it with.

Next we melted down old crayons to make new shape crayons. It was cool to. Just bake in the oven to melt and then put in the freezer and they pop right out. So fun!

Tomorrow.......We are making silly putty! It is like corn starch, glue and liquid starch. I think. I will let you know how that goes.
